That's right, last weekend was the first weekend of December and we all know what it means (if you don't just play along. okthnksbye); It's time to put up the Christmas tree!
As we all know by now I like everything colour coordinated, so every year I keep thinking we should have the tree within a colour scheme. I've bought all the Christmas balls (teehee) in silver and blue. I love how they look all bundled together.
When we moved into this place, I wanted to get a bigger tree. And bigger we got! It's a 7.5 foot artificial tree with the lights built in. (I tried to find it online, but having some trouble with it. The closest I got is this tree, made by the same company, it's just a bit smaller)
We always start putting up the nicely colour coordinated ornaments and there is this fraction of a second moment when I want to just stop and leave it like it is, all coordinated and stuff. And then I see all the awesome ornaments we have! (and remember who we are, and that, my friends, are not the type of people to have a colour coordinated, perfect tree)
Ornaments like Glitter Elvis and all his buddies!
Needless to say, we didn't stop at the coordinated tree this year either and suspect we never really will. That fraction of a second I think about it keeps getting shorter every year, soon I won't even bother! Our tree looks spectacular with a touch of kitsch! Sounds appropriate, right? I'll get you some good photos of it soon!
So, do you have a tree yet? Are you getting one?
