Let's Partay!

Today is my birthday! I am now 33 years old. I could write this deep and thoughtful post about life and such, but instead I'm having coffee and chocolate for breakfast.

I will spend most of the day today crafting and whatnot. Doing all sorts of fun things. This includes putting together some very random snailmail-y things. So, here's my question:

Do you want mail from me?

If so, there's two things I'm asking you to do; 1) leave a comment to this post. Tell me how you celebrate your birthday, or what the weather is like, or what's your favourite chocolate. Anything really, I just want to hear from you! 2) Give me your postal address. Either leave it in the comment or send it to my e-mail brinner.shop [at] hotmail.ca Add a link to your blog too if you have one, I'm always looking for new things to read.

I'm not sure how many pieces of mail I'll send out. I'll just probably pick a few.

You have until the end of today (midnight EST), March 7th.

  1. HAPPY BIRTHDAY Katri! Since I have your address from the SPSH, I was wondering if you'd mind if I send you a card? :) I'd love to!

As for me, I'm not a big fan of birthday parties, so I just go out with a couple of friends for a drink or something like that. This year however (my birthday is in exactly a week!), my boyfriend got both of us a plane ticket for Paris, so I'll be spending it there :) I'm so excited!!

    xx Fab

    1. I would love to get mail from you! So, yes please :D Make sure you include a return address though...

I don't usually celebrate my birthdays much, so low-key get-togethers are always preferable in my books. Although, I will happily party it up for other people's birthdays, just not my own.

  2. Happy Birthday! It's funny, as I've got older (I'm 35), I've started to make birthdays more and more like my childhood. My current favorite birthday activity is to spend the day playing board games with a group of friends. I hope you spend today doing exactly what you want to do! (AND maybe brighten my mailbox if you were so inclined! AND then I would have something to post on my slowly percolating blog: paperheartpost! There is really not much to speak of yet, it is in progress.)

    enjoy your day,
    Tami lyn

    1. Wow, just checked out your etsy shop, we may share the EXACT same obsession! I love making envelopes and stickers/seals out of discarded books. Just finished some Cat in the Hat ones!

    2. Hi there! I think that sounds like a pretty fun way to spend your birthday. I have to admit I am not a huge fan of boardgames (I know, what a weird thing not to like), but spending some time taking it easy in great company sounds like fun!

I'm always happy to hear others love rescuing books too! It's the bestest!

  3. Hyvää syntymäpäivää! (:

I am pretty bad when it comes to celebrating any holidays. It always seems like such a hassle for only one day... even though I do enjoy hassle generally! I always make grand plans and end up just forgetting about them.

The last time I did something special for my birthday was two years ago. I went on a picnic with my boyfriend, accompanied by some cider and self-made potato salad, cookies and soap bubbles. It was a very hot day for June, around 23 degrees Celsius, and I ended up falling asleep in the tree shade and woke up to several bugs in my hair that had fallen in there! Yuck.

Also, my favourite chocolate is Fazer. Naturally.

    1. Kiitos!

I really like that birthday story until the bugs... I do usually like planning things, parties, dinners, whatnot, just not when it's for me.

And yes, Fazer is pretty much up there when it comes to chocolate. I can't get enough of the Lontoon Rae chocolate.

  4. Gelukkige verjaardag!!! Happy Birthday!! Hope you enjoyed your day!
My birthday is in august. I always like to do go out and do something! It doesn't matter what it is. That something just has to include my family and friends and lots of ice-cream :D

I will email you in a bit

    1. Thank you!

Ah, you can't go wrong with ice-cream! I do think that should be mandatory on birthdays :D

  5. Happy birthday!

I follow you on IG and would feel very honored if you would write me:)

I celebrate my birthdays with my family and friends. Always a merry time because it's in the summer when our vacation has just begun. Last year we sat outside drinking wine with friends until midnight and our kids just playing and having a good time.

    1. Hi there!

Having a birthday in the summer is great (I think), it'll be much easier to enjoy the day outside. I can't complain about a March birthday either. I feel the beginning of the year, January/February always feel really long. We've had winter for a while and spring is still a whiles away, so I like having a reason to celebrate in the middle of all that. Even if I don't 'really' celebrate any more. A nice dinner out with some wine works wonders!

  6. I'm follower of this blog, I I'd like to receive mail from you. But I'm afraid I saw your post a day too late! I will try mu chance when you turn 34... ;) And anyway: happy birthday + one day!

As for my birthday, I celebrate it in different ways, depending on the year. But lately I've realised that I always get my hair cut the day(s) before my birthday. I'm not sure why...

You're very welcome to my blog about my adventures related to the post world:

    1. Hello,

I'll keep your address as the +1, so if the mood strikes me, I'll send something your way too... How's that? There might be mail, but if there is, it'll be later :D

Interesting about the haircut... Maybe it's a subconscious 'new year, new hair' kind of a though?

    2. Thanks!
You're right about the hircut. My birthday is in the very beginnig of the year, so I have always the big sensation of starting something new.
